Graphic Arts sees yet another revolutionary product from TechNova – The PoliJet system.
A breakthrough in the CtP arena, the PoliJet plate is the world’s first and only chemical-free, no process polyester plate that can be imaged on high resolution pigment-based large format inkjet printers (e.g. Epson Stylus Pro 800 series) and taken directly to the press for printing! Under recommended imaging and press conditions, the PoliJet plate can achieve a run-length of 2,000 impressions without baking and 20,000 impressions with baking.
Another innovative product is the PosiJet film, a companion product for the PoliJet System. This is a high density polyester-based fully transparent clear film for computer-to-film digital imaging using recommended inkjet printers. It is ideal for pleasing full-colour & screen positives in any size, with unbeatable value-for-money. The PosiJet film is designed to produce high-resolution four-colour plate-ready positives in 2, 4 and 8 page formats, with UV density matching silver-based films. It is the world’s most cost-effective computer-to-film system.
Both, the PoliJet plate and the PosiJet film, are designed for imaging with inkjet technology and can be imaged using a PoliJet Imaging Device.
The PoliJet system is a modular arrangement with 3 components – PoliJet InkJet Platesetter, PoliRIP and PoliJet Baking Oven.
TechNova along with its innovation partner EPSON has co-branded its tailor-made 400/800 series of high-quality large-format inkjet printers as PoliJet Inkjet Platesetters. These Plate-setters are high resolution pigment-based inkjet imaging devices, which can be used for imaging PoliJet plates, PosiJet films and NovaJet proofing medias. Thus, acting as a plate-setter, a film-setter and a proofing device.
Bundled with the PoliJet Inkjet platesetter comes the PoliRIP software, which is a software RIP provided by TechNova that enables both AM and FM screening options for dot reproduction.
The third component is the baking device functioning as a Plate Finishing Unit. There are two variants of the Baking Oven; one is the Heavy Duty version, and the other Desktop version. The Baking process is totally dry and doesn’t involve any chemistry.
However for imaging only PosiJet films the baking unit is not needed.
The PoliJet system delivers everything a printer desires in an entry level CtP system.
